How do I replace the 2004 ford f150 trasnfwe case relay module?

How do I replace the 2004 ford f150 transfw case relay module?

so, i was out on a camping trip with buddies and my f150 decided it was a good time to throw a fit. the 4x4 wouldn’t engage, and we were stuck on some muddy hill. after some digging around, i figured it was the transfer case relay module. i mean, it had to be, right?

i ordered a new one and thought it’d be a piece of cake. but man, getting to that module was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. anyone else have to wrestle with their truck like that? i swear i almost got stuck under there more than once.

anyway, once i finally got it swapped out, all was good. so, what’s your worst car repair story? i can’t be the only one who’s had a truck act up at the worst possible time.

Ive dealt with this on my old F150 in Texas took me a weekend to figure it out because those relays can be tricky I think it was under the dash near the steering column but not too sure now

I ve done this before on my buddy’s 2004 F150 up in Michigan. Was snowing like crazy and he was stranded.

The relay module is tucked away which makes it tricky.

I just pulled the old one out and swapped in the new. It wasn’t too bad but be ready for some hard-to-reach screws.

Kinda rewarding to see it start up again though.

Replacing the relay module on a 2004 F150 is a bit of a pain I remember doing it in my garage in Michigan last winter. Took longer than expected because I couldn’t find the exact part.

Good luck with the swap hope it goes smooth.
