How do I install arp head bolts for honda crv 1999 properly
so, last summer I thought I was a mechanic, right? decided to upgrade my '99 CRV with ARP head bolts. man, what a saga. first I didn’t even have the right tools and ended up using a butter knife to pry some stuff apart. can you believe that? It was a mess.
installed them but didn’t torque them down right at first. my buddy said just go for it, but then I had oil everywhere, like a bad horror film. anyway, I learned you gotta follow the torque specs carefully. what did I even do wrong?
but after a few tries and some YouTube help, I got it. still nervous about it tho. ever had a similar experience?
I remember my buddy in Oregon struggled with installing those arp head bolts on his CRV it took him forever but finally he got it right after watching a bunch of videos. Patience is key with that stuff
I’ve always found a decent torque wrench makes a big difference just don’t rush it
I ve done this on my buddy’s 99 CRV in Ohio once it was a messy job but we had a blast blasting music fixing it together. Just make sure to torque them properly and use some grease on the threads
Good luck with it

Just make sure to clean the threads really good and use some anti-seize. Kinda stressful but worth it in the end when you got a tight seal.
Had a 99 CRV in my garage in California and I remember the hassle of installing ARP head bolts. You gotta torque them pretty well or you’ll be back to square one. I’ve learned to double-check the sequence or it could be a mess. Just some patience and you’ll be fine. Good luck with it.
