How do I fix the thump from intake on my 2015 Ford F150?

so, I’ve been dealing with this annoying thump from the intake on my 2015 F150. at first, I thought it was just me being paranoid, ya know? but then my buddy rode with me, and he was like, “dude, what’s that noise?”

I figured maybe it was the air filter or something. swapped it but still got the thump. has anyone else had this? sometimes I wonder if it’s just the truck telling me it wants a vacation or something, haha. any tips would be cool to fix it.

I had a thump coming from my intake too when I was driving around Denver last winter.

Turned out to be the air filter not seated right.

I’ve fixed it and now my F150 runs smoother than ever. Sometimes these little things can get overlooked especially in the cold months when you just wanna get from A to B.

Hope this helps ya out.

Had a similar thump in my F150 while driving around Portland

I found checking the intake bolts helped a lot

Just make sure you don’t over-tighten them you know how it goes

man my 2015 F150 was thumping like a blueberry in a blender when I drove it through the back roads of Colorado

I ve had a similar issue after I switched to a cold air intake

turns out it was just a loose hose I tightened it up and the thump went away

sometimes it’s those little things that mess with your ride

man I had the same issue with my 2015 F150 just last summer in Michigan it was super annoying driving around with that thump felt like the truck was gonna fall apart I ve read a lot online about possible fixes and honestly I found that checking the intake manifold gasket helped a lot

you could also try tightening up any loose bolts around the intake area it worked for me so give it a shot good luck

I’ve dealt with that thump before in my buddy’s F150 out in Texas.

Could be an issue with the intake manifold or maybe just a loose bolt.

I’ve heard some simple fixes involved tightening stuff up.

Always worth checking those rubber mounts too maybe they’re shot.

i had the same thing happen driving through the mountains in Colorado last summer. the thump was annoying like a bad music beat that just wouldn’t quit.

I ve heard it might be the air filter or maybe even the intake manifold.

i just ended up cranking the radio and pretending it was a part of the truck’s charm honestly. might be worth checking those gaskets too they’ve been known to mess up and cause weird noises.

had a similar thump in my F150 here in Texas it drove me nuts for weeks turned out to be a loose intake hose just needed a little tightening and poof no more noise I ve heard others say a quick clean helps too give it a shot

I had a 2015 F150 too and that intake thump was annoying in traffic. I would drive through the streets of Seattle in the rain hearing that thump all the time.

I ve tried tightening the intake bolts it helped a little but never got rid of it completely.

I ve dealt with that thump too in my 2015 F150. Driving through the Rockies last summer was brutal with that noise.

I found it was just loose intake bolts after checking so simple fix. Made a huge difference now it runs so much smoother.

Hope this helps a bit.

I’ve had that thump too driving around Seattle. Seems like it’s a common Ford thing. Try checking your intake gasket or maybe even tighten some bolts. Just a thought.

I had a similar issue with my F150 in Ontario last winter.

Pulled off the intake and found it packed with gunk. Cleaning it helped a bit but the thump still creeps in. I think it might need a new gasket or something.

Have you checked the mounts too? That could be the culprit.

I had a similar issue with my F150 here in Ontario it was super annoying. I tried tightening the intake bolts but nothing changed. I ended up replacing some gaskets and that helped a bit but the thump still comes around sometimes. Love the truck but man this sound is driving me crazy.

had a similar thump on my 2016 F150 here in Texas it was driving me nuts I tried a few things finally just switched out the intake hose and poof no more thump

I ve heard some folks swear by a new filter too might be worth checking

I remember driving my 2014 F150 in Texas and that damn thump started. It was nerve-wracking man. I ve tried tightening the intake clamp and replacing the air filter but the thump persists. Its so frustrating. Just wish Ford would’ve thought about this when they designed it. Good luck figuring it out.

I ve got a 2015 F150 too feels like a small dinosaur sometimes right? I found tightening the intake bolts helps a bit with the thump.

I’ve dealt with that thump too when I was down in Texas last summer. I had to replace my intake manifold gasket and it helped a bit.

sometimes they say it could be the throttle body or just a loose clamp. Every little bump feels like a big deal when you’re driving.

I drove my 2015 F150 last summer in Arizona and the intake thump got pretty annoying I’ve noticed it happens more when accelerating hard I’ve found that tightening the intake pipes helped a bit but then it came back

My buddy swears by an aftermarket intake which he says quieted his down so I might try that next

Good luck

I ve had that thump before in my 2015 F150 driving around Ontario its so annoying but i figured it out.

Check the intake manifold bolts sometimes they get loose or the gasket starts to wear which causes that sound.

Man I remember when I had a thump in my F150 in Calgary it drove me crazy I replaced the intake and still heard it. I’ve read that checking the hose connections can help and sometimes it’s just a loose bolt somewhere I’ll never know right

Best of luck though
