How can I troubleshoot my Honda Civic USB port not stable?
so, the other day, I was just chillin’ in my Honda Civic, trying to charge my phone, right? but the USB port kept kinda wigglin’ and my phone wouldn’t charge. it felt like I was playing some weird game of “will it or won’t it.” super annoying. I mean, is it just my car, or do other people have this issue too?
But I started checking the cable first cause that’s usually the usual suspect. Turns out, the cable had a little damage. I switched it out, but the port still felt kinda loose. Maybe I need to clean it out, but I don’t wanna break anything. You ever tried to clean a USB port?
And like, what if the whole thing just needs replacing? ugh, imagine the costs. Anyone else dealt with this? gives me headaches just thinking about it.
I’ve had similar issues with my 2019 Civic last summer in Texas. USB just wouldn’t hold the charge sometimes. I found cleaning the port helped a bit. But then who knows maybe it’s just a Honda thing. Frustrating though.
Ive had my Honda Civic for a while now but the USB port can be super flaky in cold winters here in Toronto. It cuts in and out constantly really annoying when I’m trying to charge my phone.
I just try different cables or reset the system sometimes. It helps a bit but who knows if its even a long term fix.
Had the same issue in my Civic while driving around Toronto last summer. I’ve noticed that wiggling the cable sometimes helps but it’s super annoying.
The connection just feels off you know.
had the same problem in my Civic last summer it turned out to be just a loose connection I fixed it pretty easily
sometimes those USB ports are so picky like why do they even exist if they act all weird
I ve had similar issues with my Civic here in Toronto it just cuts out sometimes for no reason. Frustrating.
Maybe try cleaning the port or checking the cables could help stabilize it a bit.
My old Civic’s USB port was a nightmare in winter in Illinois it would just cut out while charging. Really frustrating when you’re on the road. I’ve tried cleaning it but no luck.
I remember driving my 2018 Civic down to the coast in California and my USB just cut out randomly. Really frustrating when you’re jamming to your playlist.
I’ve tried wiggling the cord and cleaning the port but it still makes me wonder if it’s just a common problem with these cars.
Have to say it’s annoying though.
had the same issue with my Civic while driving through the streets of Portland it was super annoying I ve tried wiggling the cord and sometimes it works but drives me crazy when im trying to charge my phone
I think dust might be an issue too maybe take a look inside the port occasionally I just blow into mine to see if it helps
I remember driving through Toronto and my USB just kept disconnecting I thought it was my phone but nope it was that port acting up I ve heard some people say cleaning it helps but mine feels like its haunted or something
Lately I ve just been using the aux cable its more stable but man I miss the quick charges
Ive had issues with my Civic’s USB port too like driving in Seattle and my phone just stops charging outta nowhere. Super frustrating especially since I rely on the GPS so much.
I found that cleaning the port really helped no lint or dust. I also tried different cables and some worked but others didn’t so maybe check those as well.
Ive had issues too here in Canada the USB just dropped signal outta nowhere while listening to music one evening found it weird but fiddled with the connection and it worked for a bit guess its hit or miss dude
i’ve had this problem too in my old civic it drives me nuts sometimes it helps to unplug and plug the cable back in just a thought
