How can I fix both p1151 and p1131 codes on my F150?

so, I’ve been dealing with those pesky p1151 and p1131 codes on my F150 for a while now. first off, I think it’s a classic case of the O2 sensor acting up. had a buddy who said he replaced his, and boom, problem solved. but my truck’s kind of stubborn, you know?

I did some digging online and found out these codes usually mean the engine’s running lean or there’s a sensor issue. I also changed the air filter and cleaned the MAF sensor thinking it would help, but nope. still getting those codes.

And have you ever noticed how simple fixes sometimes take forever? like, you’d think a sensor would just say “hey, change me,” but nope, it plays hard to get. maybe I’ll just try replacing the O2 sensors next. have you had any luck with your codes? or is it all just smoke and mirrors?

I’ve dealt with those codes on my old F150 before in Pennsylvania it was a real headache Cleared them but they came right back. Just be patient

I ve dealt with those codes before on my 2005 F150 in Texas it was a headache but cleaning the MAF sensor helped a bit

I have friends who swear by replacing the O2 sensors so maybe try that if cleaning doesn’t do the trick. It’s a gamble but worth a shot.

I had a similar issue with my F150 last summer out in Texas I ve got these codes too and they drove me nuts. Ended up cleaning the MAF sensor and checking the O2 sensors and that did the trick for me. Just make sure to check the vacuum lines I found a crack in mine and that made a big difference. Good luck with it

I had p1151 and p1131 codes on my F150 last summer in Florida.

Turned out it was just a bad O2 sensor. Simple fix.

Ive had the p1151 and p1131 codes pop up on my F150 a few months back when I was driving up to Lake Tahoe. Super annoying right. Ended up replacing the O2 sensors and clearing the codes. Seems to be running fine now.

Just sharing my two cents here. Hopefully it helps.

I ve dealt with p1151 and p1131 codes before on my old F150 back in Ohio. It was a pain trying to figure it out. I ended up replacing the O2 sensors and cleaning the MAF.

Much better now just took some patience.

I ve had my F150 for years and once got both p1151 and p1131 codes at the same time when I was driving through the Rockies in Colorado it was frustrating.

Turned out it was a vacuum leak after replacing the intake manifold gasket. Sometimes the simplest things get overlooked.

Good luck with your troubleshooting I hope its something easy for you too.

I ve dealt with those codes on my F150 before up here in Michigan. It can be a real pain

Checking the O2 sensors and the intake vacuum can help. I’ve also seen folks clean the MAF sensor with some cleaner. Just be careful not to mess it up. Good luck with it

I’ve had a similar issue with my F150 here in Michigan. P1151 and P1131 codes are a pain. I replaced the O2 sensors and that helped a lot but still had some weird engine behavior. It turned out to be a cracked intake manifold. I’ve heard some folks have luck just resetting the codes and moving on but that never worked for me. Good luck fixing it

I had a similar issue with my F150 few months back in Texas.

Ive read both codes point to oxygen sensors or maybe the MAF. After replacing the sensors I noticed better fuel efficiency.

But honestly it could be a lot more fiddly than it sounds. Good luck with it!

so I had a similar issue with my F150 a couple of years ago in Texas it was driving me nuts I ve replaced the O2 sensors and that seemed to help for a bit but then the codes came back a few months later

what worked for me was checking the vacuum lines I found a small crack that I fixed and it made a noticeable difference in performance so maybe take a look there too I hope you get it sorted soon

I ve had those codes pop up a few times on my F150 here in Michigan. Ended up replacing the O2 sensors and it did the trick.

was kinda annoyed but glad it was an easy fix. Hope you sort it out soon.

Ive had the p1151 and p1131 codes pop up on my Ford before too. I just reset the codes and it was good for a while but they came back. It’s really annoying.

You might want to check the MAF sensor and vacuum leaks. Fixed my buddy’s truck when he had similar issues in Florida. Sometimes it’s just the little things, right?

I ve been struggling with those codes on my 2005 F150 for ages. It s like a never ending battle.

Last week in Ohio I finally did the O2 sensors and it helped a bit.

Man I remember when my F150 threw those codes at me one chilly morning in Michigan I thought I was done for. I’ve tackled those before though and it turns out checking those O2 sensors was key for me. Just cleaned the MAF and reset the codes and it purred like a kitten.

Hoping you get it sorted out soon you deserve some smooth rides.

I once had my F150 throwing codes like it was confetti in the wind back in Ohio. The p1151 and p1131 were the worst culprits

I ve read that a dirty mass airflow sensor can cause those issues. After cleaning mine everything seemed to run smoother

But if that doesn’t help I’ve heard replacing the O2 sensors might do the trick or checking for leaks in the intake

Good luck with it all

I ve had my F150 throw those codes too in Florida once I replaced the O2 sensors everything cleared up really smooth

just a random thought new spark plugs can help too if youre into that sort of thing

I’ve had a similar issue with my F150 up in Oregon last winter. P1151 and P1131 codes popped outta nowhere while I was driving in the rain.

Turned out my MAF sensor was dirty and my O2 sensors were kinda old too. Cleaning the MAF helped a lot but I had to replace the O2s eventually. Didn’t break the bank which was nice. Always good to keep an eye on those sensors if you don’t want the same hassle.
