Can you recommend a durable car rack for honda crv?

so last summer, I went camping with my buddies, and we thought it would be a good idea to haul all our gear on the roof of my Honda CR-V. I ended up borrowing this old rack from my neighbor, and man, I swear I saw it wobbling like a jelly on the highway. But somehow, we didn’t lose any gear. Crazy right?

I need something solid for the next adventure. Anyone had luck with a rack that doesn’t sound like it’s about to take flight? I’ve seen some cheap ones, but I’m worried they might just be fancy-looking paperweights. What do you guys use?

I want something that can handle a kayak and a ton of camping stuff, preferably not exploding under pressure. Is it possible to get something durable without breaking the bank? just looking for some real-life experiences here.

I ve had a Thule rack for my CRV for years now and its held up through everything from road trips across California to snowy adventures in Colorado I really like how easy it is to install and take off

A buddy of mine went with a Yakima and swears by it too. They both seem pretty solid if you ask me

I ve had a Thule rack on my CRV since moving to Colorado and its been solid through all the mountain trips. I love how easy it is to install and take off. My buddy has a Yakima and he swears by it too but honestly from my experience Thule just feels a bit more sturdy. Both brands are good but I prefer Thule.

I’ve been using a Thule rack for my CR-V up in Canada for a couple of years and it’s been solid.

You know the winters can be brutal but this thing has held up.

I have friends who swear by Yakima too but they say it can get a bit pricey.

Just make sure whatever you get is easy to install because I’ve struggled with that before.

I’ve had my Honda CRV for years now and took it on a couple of road trips up in the Rockies. Best memories. I bought a Thule rack last summer and it’s been solid.

No issues even with heavy kayaks. Just make sure to double-check the fit before you go. You wouldn’t want a surprise on the highway. Overall pretty happy with it so far.

I have a Thule rack for my CRV it’s super sturdy and handles my kayak like a pro I’ve taken it on trips up in Maine no issues so far just solid all around

Honestly I’ve heard good things about Yakima too some buddies swear by them for their CRVs they say easy to install and take off so bonus points for that

I ve used a Thule rack on my CRV for years in Oregon and it’s solid I can’t believe how much gear I can haul and it hasn’t shown any signs of wear yet.

Used a Saris Bones rack for my CRV on a road trip through New England I’ve had it for years and it’s super sturdy even with my bikes bouncing around Definitely a solid choice for durability

I ve had good luck with the Thule Vertex 2 for my CRV here in Seattle. It’s super sturdy and easy to install. I’ve used it for camping trips and it held up perfectly even on bumpy roads.

Just make sure to check the weight limit if you’re carrying bikes. That thing can get heavy.

I’ve had the Thule Gateway trunk mount rack for my CR-V and it’s been pretty solid through some wild road trips in the Rockies. It’s easy to install and holds everything tight. Just be careful with heavy bikes though cause it can wobble a bit. But overall I ve been happy with it. Nice fit for weekend adventures.

So I have a Thule rack on my Honda CRV and it’s held up through a couple road trips across the Pacific Northwest. I’ve never had any issues. Super easy to install and take off when not in use.

The only thing I’d say is it can get a bit noisy at highway speeds but honestly it’s worth it for the added storage. I think you’ll like it if you need something tough for kayak trips or whatever.
