Can someone break down the vehicle cost with sales tax Honda Civic Type R?

so, I’ve been eyeing the Honda Civic Type R for a while now. Like, it’s been a dream car since High School. I remember my buddy had one and we drove it to the beach, it was wild. But now that I’m actually thinkin’ of buying one, the whole cost thing has me confused, man.

I’ve heard the base price is around $40,000 or something, but then you throw in sales tax and it gets kinda crazy. I think my state’s tax is like 8% or so. So if you do the math, that bumps it up quite a bit, right? And then there’s registration, dealer fees, and who knows what else.

Does anyone know how much the total cost would be after all that? Am I looking at like $45k or way more? Just trying to get my head around this before I head to the dealership and get overwhelmed.

I remember when I was shopping for a Civic Type R in California I had no idea how much taxes would add to the total. I’ve seen it jump a couple grand just from sales tax alone.

A friend told me to check out the lease options since that might save some money long term but I’m still crunching the numbers.

Those sales tax numbers can sneak up on you. It’s like why is the car so much when you add it all.

Still it would be a blast to drive around not gonna lie.
