hey man, so I’ve been thinking about getting a bed rack for my f150. I’ve seen some really heavy stuff on them, like kayaks and lumber. But does that mean they can hold up to the test of time? I mean, I once loaded mine up with so much gear for a camping trip, I thought it’d take off like a space shuttle.
And honestly, it did pretty good. I’ve had it loaded with around 500 pounds and no issues. But I did see a guy at the trailhead with his rack bent like a pretzel. Kinda made me sweat a bit, you know?
What’s your experience? Have you ever pushed the limits, or are you more of a “let’s keep it easy” type?
I’ve used my F150 bed rack for some serious hauling out in Denver and it handled like a champ.
Never thought it could hold that much but I guess I was wrong.
I’ve loaded mine up in Colorado with gear for camping trips no problem at all held everything sturdy.
But heavier stuff makes me a bit nervous honestly.
I’ve used an F150 bed rack up in Montana for hauling lumber and it held up pretty well. I loaded it with some heavy beams once and it didn’t even sag.
I wonder though how it’ll handle in really rough terrain. Overall I think it’s solid just gotta know its limits.
Nice setup for adventure.
I’ve been using my F150 bed rack in Wyoming for a couple years. It holds my kayaks and gear just fine but I’ve heard mixed things about heavier loads like dirt bikes.
Honestly it feels sturdy but I worry sometimes when I’m loaded up on the trails. Just gotta be careful I guess.
I ve had my F150 with a bed rack for a while now. Used it for hauling gear during camping trips in the Rockies. It held up pretty well with all the heavy stuff I loaded.
But I have also heard stories of others having issues when they pushed it too far. So it really depends on how much you load and how you use it. Just be careful.
I ve used a bed rack on my old F150 here in Texas for hauling kayaks and it held up great but I wouldn’t trust it with crazy heavy loads like concrete bags. It seems fine for lighter stuff but just be careful with what’s on it.
Honestly sometimes I wonder if these racks can really hold all the weight they claim. Seen some people with bikes and gear on theirs so maybe it depends on the brand too. Just my two cents
I’ve owned an F150 for a few years now and last summer I loaded it with firewood for a camping trip up in Oregon. That bed rack held like a champ not even a wiggle.
But I’ve seen some folks questioning its limits which kinda makes sense. If you’re hauling something super heavy like a full kayak or a bunch of tools I think you might wanna just double check the specs.
Seems like good for light to medium stuff thou.
I ve had my f150 with a bed rack for a couple years now in Texas it’s great for hauling gear but I wouldn’t push it too hard with heavy stuff like plywood it might sag
I have seen some folks load them down like crazy and it’s held up fine but I always worry about the long term durability especially on rough terrains
So I live in northern Michigan and I’ve hauled some serious weight with my F150 bed rack. I remember loading up firewood for winter and wow it was solid.
But I ve heard some say it could buckle under a camper or something heavier. It really depends on the specific rack you have I guess. It can get sketchy sometimes.
I ve used an F150 for hauling lumber in Oregon and honestly it handled it like a champ. The bed rack was sturdy and seemed to take the weight without a hitch.
I know some folks worry about overloading but if you use the right setup it can be super reliable. Definitely worth considering for heavy loads. Just my two cents.
I ve had my F150 in the snowy mountains of Colorado hauling gear for skiing trips and it holds up well.
I mean loading my kayak wasn’t an issue either it handles heavy stuff surprisingly good.
I got an F150 up in Canada and I’ve loaded it with lumber for home projects. that bed rack holds like a champ. just be smart about weight distribution. I’ve seen some folks overdo it and that ain’t pretty.
definitely a solid option for heavy loads if you know what you’re doing.
I’ve had my F150 for a few years now and used my bed rack for some serious loads like camping gear and lumber. It held up great even when driving through the mountains of Colorado. Honestly never doubted it.
But I have heard some folks mention durability can be a worry. Depends on the setup though. From my experience it’s been solid as a rock.
I live in Montana and I’ve hauled everything from camping gear to lumber with my F150 bed rack. Works like a charm for my needs. But I’ve seen some folks load it up way too heavy and worry about bending the rack. It feels sturdy enough but I guess you gotta be careful about how much you push it.
In the end it’s all about knowing your limits right.
