Are there any upgrades for 2011 Ford F150 plastic rockers super cab?

hey guys, so i’m working on my 2011 F150 super cab and need to talk rockers. those plastic ones are alright, but man, they just don’t hold up all the time. I recently ripped one up off-roading, and now I’m wondering if there are better options out there.

i’ve seen some folks swapping out for aluminum or heavier-duty ones. but, will that really make a difference? I mean, if I’m gonna pay more, it better last longer than my last relationship, right?

and what’s with those aftermarket kits that promise the world? i got scammed once by a “guaranteed fit” deal, and let’s just say, it didn’t fit—like trying to put a square peg in a round hole.

if anyone’s got experience or recommendations, hit me up. i could really use the help.

I ve got a 2011 F150 in Toronto and I remember when I had to replace the plastic rockers. Not fun. Looked into some upgrades but it gets pricey. I found some decent aftermarket options.

It feels like there’s always something to improve on with these trucks. Just have to weigh the cost against the benefit I guess.

I have a 2011 F150 and I had to replace the rockers last year. Living in Wisconsin the salt really tears them up.

So I looked into some upgrades and found some cool aftermarket options. I ve seen guys go for metal ones which seem sturdier in the long run.

But some claim the plastic can be easier to manage for repairs. Each has its pros and cons I guess.

I live in Michigan and in the winter all that salt just eats them up. I have been looking around and found a couple of options but they get pretty pricey. Not sure if worth it or just use some tough paint to coat them.

I’ve got a 2011 F150 super cab livin in Texas and the plastic rockers are a pain. They crack too easily. I’ve seen some people use aftermarket steel replacements that look way better and actually hold up. I have considered it but then it’s like do I really want to spend that? Not sure if worth it.

But I mean they do make my truck look kinda cheap.

I’ve heard some echoing concerns about durability tho. Can’t decide if it’s worth the risk. Hopefully it’ll hold up better than the originals.
