Are there any signs that Honda Civic 8th rear brakes need replacement?
so, like a month ago, I was driving my '08 Civic and noticed some weird noises coming from the back. thought it was just my friends messing with me, but then I felt that weird shaking when I hit the brakes. kinda freaked me out, right? I mean, all I wanted was a smooth ride, not a mini rollercoaster.
But then I remembered my buddy said something about squealing sounds and brake dust. like, am I supposed to see brake dust everywhere? and the fact that my car would stop but like, slower than usual was kind of a red flag too.
So, I just wanna know if anyone else had these signs. Did you guys change your rear brakes? or just ignored it until it got way worse? I guess I’m just trying to figure out if I’m being paranoid or if my brakes actually need help.
had a 2007 Honda Civic in California and I noticed some weird squeaking sounds when I hit the brakes. it was like a song I didn’t want to hear.
I’ve checked the pads and they were super thin. totally glad I swapped them out before it got worse.
I found that checking regularly saves a big headache later on.
I remember when my 2007 Honda Civic in Toronto started screeching whenever I braked on a rainy day. I thought it was just the weather but nope the pads were toast.
You know that little warning light? Mine lit up like a Christmas tree before I realized what was up. Definitely a sign.
I remember my 2008 Honda Civic in Toronto when the rear brakes started whining I thought it was just a weird sound then I got a warning light.
That grinding noise is no joke it gets loud like a rock band in your trunk.
Had my 2009 Honda Civic in Toronto for years I noticed weird squealing noises when I’d brake. Definitely time for new pads again.
Then there’s the shaking kinda weird thing when braking downhill. I ve had way too many brake issues but love the car overall.
Had a 2008 Honda Civic in Toronto and the rear brakes started squeaking out of nowhere. Thought it was the end of the world but it was just the pads.
Look out for the grinding noise if you’re in that model too. I ve heard some say vibrations might mean trouble. Just gotta listen to the vibes of your ride you know.
Had a 2008 Civic in Toronto and those rear brakes started squeaking like a dying mouse. I’ve learned to check the pads often. If they get that thin look or grind they’re toast. Better safe than sorry for the ride.
So I have a 2008 Honda Civic in Toronto and I noticed the brakes are kinda screechy lately. It’s like they wanna sing a ballad every time I stop. I’ve had that car for ages now and never really thought about the rear brakes until now. The dashboard won’t light up though so I guess I’m flying blind.
I remember reading somewhere that if you hear grinding or feel the car pulling weird it might be time to check them. What an adventure keeping up with these little things.
so I’ve got a 2008 Honda Civic and the other day I noticed some weird squeaking sounds in the rear brakes while driving through Seattle.
I’ve heard about the warning signs like reduced pedal feel or a grinding sound but honestly at this point it just feels off. I’ve replaced the front brakes last year and now I’m thinking it’s time for the rear ones too.
It’s a bit of a chore but got to keep the ride safe right
Had a Honda Civic 8th gen back in the day guess that was around 2015
I remember hearing this weird grinding noise whenever I hit the brakes. Thought it was just my imagination but man it got worse.
Brake pad warning light came on too so yeah definitely signs for replacement right there.
If your brakes are squeaking and you feel that grinding then better check it out before you end up needing a whole brake job.
